Sum Of Squares (SSQ) - Corrected Total (SST)

The corrected total sum of squares always has N -1 degrees of freedom.  This can be attributed to the calculation of the mean for the dependent variable.  The squared sum of the deviations about the mean of the dependent variable is the total sum of squares.  Divided by its degrees of freedom, the sum of squares is reported as SST.
